Everybody has a little bit of jetlag from the flight but we are slowly but surely getting adjusted. Our families are very nice and some of the household customs and culture is definitely different. The lights are outside of the bathrooms, some people were taking showers in the dark...cough cough chris bible. And the food is definitely good but different as they eat a lot of bread and cold cuts for breakfast and dinner and big meals for lunch. Today we took a city tour and got to learn a lot about the history of the city which has seen many centuries of architecture and growth. We all got to see some of the iconic symbols in Braunschweig such as the lion in the town center and Heinrich the Lion's (the old famous king) grave. School is very different and some of us call it a mixture of highschool and college because of all the freedom and breaks. We have one more day of school left until the much anticipated weekend.

Arrived in GERMANY.
After a long 9.5 hrs flight across the Atlantic, it was finally time to step foot on German soil. After another 4 hour lay- over and the first shopping experiences in the Frankfurt airport, we were greeted with big fanfare by our German exchange partners in Hanover. The joy to see each other again was obvious and after lots of hugs and even a few tears all the students were off with their families for 30 min drive to Braunschweig .
Now the real adventure starts and we hope you will check back frequently to follow our trip. Bis bald.
